BACKGROUND

Phillip graduated with a BA in Law & General Psychology in 1980 to 1982 and an LLB from 1983 to 1984 from the University of the Witwatersrand. He joined the Bar in 1985 and was conferred senior status in 2005.

FIELDS OF EXPERTISE

Constitutional/ Administrative Law, Commercial Law and Delict.

RECENT PRACTICE HISTORY

Phillip has several reported cases in the areas of Constitutional and Administrative Law. He has also served as an acting judge in the High Court and the Labour Court on various occasions since 1999.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

Phillip was a lecturer before joining the Bar.
